Head of Corporate Communications, Whirlpool Corporation
Brett Lutz has served as head of corporate communications at Whirlpool Corporation since November 2016. In this role, Lutz directs all internal and external corporate communications activities, including communication strategy, PR & media relations, community relations, crisis communications, and corporate social responsibility efforts. Lutz started his career with Whirlpool in 2013 as Director of Global Communications and Change Management, where he was responsible for multiple global transformation efforts associated with major mergers and acquisitions. He is responsible for the change management competency program at Whirlpool with nearly 150 certified global practitioners. Before joining Whirlpool, Lutz worked for sixteen years in strategy and talent management consulting with Accenture, assisting global clients going through significant process, systems, organization, and culture transitions. He is currently the secretary of the board of directors for Child and Family Services of Southwestern Michigan, and a board member for LOGAN Center (Autism Services). Lutz earned both his masters and bachelors degrees from the University of Oklahoma, where he studied journalism, french literature, and international business. He holds advanced language certificates from Université Blaise Pascal (France) and Università di Bologna (Italy).
