A well-respected actress who has appeared in dozens of films and television shows, Salma Hayek Pinault will share her perspective on what it means to bring more humanity and diversity to the workplace. Salma is a tireless proponent of domestic violence education, awareness, and prevention, and works closely with numerous global organizations to promote gender equity.

Salma will deliver the Tuesday afternoon keynote at WorkHuman 2018, April 2-5 in Austin, Texas.

Born and raised in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, Salma is primarily noted for her acting career, but has dedicated much of her time to social activism. 

Salma has:

    • Been a spokesperson for The Pampers/UNICEF partnership worldwide, to help stop the spread of life-threatening maternal and neonatal tetanus; and the Avon Foundation’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program, which focuses on domestic violence education, awareness, and prevention, as well as support for victims. 
    • Served on the board of the Kering Foundation, which aims to combat violence against women, focusing specifically on sexual violence in America, harmful traditional practices in Western Europe, and domestic violence in Asia. 
    • Co-founded Chime for Change, an organization dedicated to improving the education, health, and welfare of women and girls around the world. 

In her screen work as an actress, director, and producer, Salma was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and a BAFTA Award for her leading role in “Frida,” and was an executive producer of the television hit “Ugly Betty.”
